Planting Peace Children’s Homes
In 2004, Planting Peace began its efforts to help the over 150 million homeless children worldwide. Our first project was a small orphanage in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Since then, we have opened six more homes for homeless children worldwide with additional homes scheduled to open every six months.

Unfortunately, the number of orphaned children worldwide is on the rise. Parents dying from AIDS, malnutrition, malaria, and tuberculosis combined with governments that offer little to no social services are why most children are forced onto the street. Once homeless, children are exposed to the horrors of physical and sexual abuse, drugs and even slavery. In Haiti alone, it is estimated that 300,000 children are sold into slavery and each year another 30,000 children are sent to it's neighboring country, the Dominican Republic, to support the sex trade industry.

Planting Peace endeavors to constantly improve our existing homes and also to help rescue more orphans from their terrors by creating new homes. Please consider volunteering, making a donation or even develop a creative way to fund-raise the small amount of money it takes to open and operate a new orphanage.
